With the advent of both fast hardware and mature software, AI has developed into a toolkit that can help in complex tasks.

We believe we are a long way from being able to interpret petrographic images automatically, but AI techniques can provide assistance to experts to take away the mundane parts of a job and allow these experts to maximise their skill set.

One aspect that PETROG can assist with is to allow you to collect data and then perform analysis of that data in a structured form.  This creates a data set that can be used to train AI / Machine Learning systems.
