Our History

In 1993 Dr Barrie Wells and Mark Gorst were a founding part of the Conwy Valley Consultants Ltd. Group of companies, which provided a range of geotechnical consultancy services.

In 1997 they founded Conwy Valley System Limited, and became part of the Geoscience Wales Limited cluster of companies.

In that time, as well as developing the PETROG integrated petrography system, the company has not only worked on a range of projects in the geotechnical arena, but also for a wide range of other disciplines requiring expertise in data management, database design, mathematical modelling, statistical analysis, machine learning and GIS. Our company’s experts are also in demand for running technical training courses and giving evidence as an expert witness.

The company uses in-house skills as well as collaborating with companies within the GWL cluster.
